25 мая 2021 г. состоялось заседание Американского семинара МАЭ, ИЭА и СПбИИ РАН, на котором с докладом Jotï creative ethos, Venezuelan Amazon: a reading of how diversity sustains life выступила Eglee Zent, PhD, Venezuelan Institute for Scientific Research.
This talk explores three areas: 1. Jotï ecogony, 2. Amazonian Amerindian notions, and 3. Amazonian hyperdominant botanical species. The research focus on the environmental ethos of the Jotï and Amazonian ethnic group of about 1500 people. We coined the term ecogony (from the Greek roots oikos: eco, home and γέγονα gony gi(g)nomai origin) meaning to understand the roots or reasons that produce particular manners of interactions between a human group with their abiotic and biotic surroundings. Here we hope to show how the ideological tenets of the Jotï not just maintain but increase the biological diversity of the areas that they have inhabited by centuries.
